Yen Ngua islet (Saddle islet) is one of Ha Long’s unique-shaped islets. It is situated at the center of Ha Long Bay, with the height of around 10 meters above the sea level.
The islet is famous for the special shape of a huge saddle rising from vast expanse of water. The islet consists of two giant stones: one is higher than the other. They are linked together with a smooth curve in the middle, which resemble the shape of a saddle when looking from a far distance. Under the joining point of these stones, there is a blank space that small boats can sail through or you can do kayaking trip from Luon Cave to there. It leads to another interpretation of the islet form. Some people thought the islet looks like a sewing machine rather than a saddle.
